Computes how many bytes the fixed-width types occupy under one codec.

Strings and blobs are variable-length and have no size_of here, so a total is exact only over fixed-width values. The answers follow the codec: a token codec adds a byte per value. The size a size_of_*s method takes is a count of elements, not of bytes.

Note: Not directly instantiable.
